Dimsum in chinatown chicago11/10/2023 ![]() ![]() No explanation on how to order just hands you an IPAD and a paper. We got there shortly after they opened and the table was dirty. The first time we got served duck that was cold, and the service sucked. We figured maybe our palates had improved since we came here the first time. We originally tried it back in 2016 and hated it. +limited metered street and lot parking available Limited metered street parking in the area there are also lots. Reservations are accepted, but they do also accept walk-ins. The booth was comfortable and spacious, and enough room for 4 people. I was surprised at how large and modern the place was - it seemed as if they had a major facelift/renovation very bright and sophisticated-like. Our server was Xiao B., and he was very friendly I wished he did check in more often to for refills of tea and to place additional orders in. The pot of tea offered was piping hot and soothing. I loved the restaurant's chili oil, as it was spicy and of good quality. We also ordered the Fried Rice Noodle Beef with Soy Sauce this was similar to chow foon noodles could have been more stir-fried and seemed slightly overcooked definitely need more soy sauce and chili oil. +Short Rib with Honey Sauce - was not a fan of these the ribs were juicy, but they were super bland and not flavorful at all not worth ordering +Deep Fried Jumbo Sesame Ball - these were massive! More like a mochi-like sesame-seeded ball, and there is no filling (such as red bean, as we expected) a nice little bread-y side ![]() +Chicken & Dried Scallop Bun - this was one of my favorites these steamed fluffy buns were tasty, and even better with the soy sauce and the chili oil mixture +Pan-Fried Green & Chive Cake - these were generous with the fillings/ingredients +MingHin's Shrimp Dumplings - these were really delicious, as the shrimp was juicy and had a nice sesame oil taste to them the wrappers were slightly overcooked and did stick easily to the parchment paper About a 3.5: MingHin Cuisine is a Chinese restaurant that has several locations besides Chinatown (Lakeshore East, Naperville, Rolling Meadows, South Loop, and Streeterville), and they are known for their all-day dim sum menu.Ī tablet was also placed on our table, but let the server handle that - make sure you fill out the fillable dim sum menu with the pencil located at your table, and look through the main menu to see if there are any additional entrees/items you want to order, in which your server will input on your table's behalf. ![]()
